Press release: Braco and his silent gaze
This brief overview is structured as answers to frequently asked questions. More in-depth information can be found in the various sections of this website or in the numerous clips and videos about Braco in his channel. YouTube: Braco official channel
Who is Braco?
Braco was born on November 23, 1967 in Zagreb. He still lives there with his family. He has one son. His real name is Josip Grbavac. His predecessor and mentor Ivica Prokic gave him the name Braco. In Croatian, the name means âlittle brother.â Braco has a special gift for helping people improve their lives. In May 1995, this gift became apparent. At the beginning there were hundreds of people, and soon thousands came seeking Bracoâs help.
How does Braco help people?
Braco helps people through his silent gaze. He travels only by invitation to events and congresses worldwide. At these events, he stands in front of large groups of people and looks at them silently for a few minutes. Experts say that through his silent gaze, he gives people something that can improve their lives. This something has no name. It isnât known to science. It cannot be measured, but every person can feel and experience it.
There are already more than 100 film documentaries in which visitors to events with Braco report improvements in all areas of their lives. Itâs enough to open your heart and just look Braco in the eyes during the few minutes Braco spends gazing at the group of people.
What is an encounter with Braco and his gaze?
An encounter with Braco lasts about 30 minutes. At the events there are usually five sessions per day. These take place only in groups. Usually there are 100â150 people in a group. However, there can be more than 1000 in a group. As preparation, there is a short explanation about Braco and his work at the beginning of each session. This introductory presentation (lasting about 10 minutes) is sometimes given by doctors and scientists. This is followed by a short video clip, which is also available on Bracoâs YouTube channel. Then Braco comes and offers his gaze. Visitors can share afterwards their experiences.
Braco is not a healer
Braco has a great respect for what works through him and helps people. He himself is very touched when he hears what visitors to his events experience through encountering his gaze. Braco isnât a healer. He also doesnât try to convey any teaching, philosophy or special knowledge. He doesnât speak in public and has never given an interview to the media.
Braco merely offers the possibility that what he shares with people can help them in some personal way. It isnât up to him or his decision who receives help. Braco respects and values medicine and doesnât see his work as a substitute for medical treatment.
Braco is not a guru or spiritual teacher.
Braco travels to many countries around the world. He stands on stage at congresses and events and silently gazes at the visitors, no matter what religion, tradition or culture they belong to, for a few minutes and then leaves the stage. He doesnât convey any teaching, doctrine or wisdom. Whatâs present in those few minutes through his gaze testifies through itself. He is often compared to the silent yogi masters of India. But Braco doesnât meditate and doesnât follow any spiritual tradition. In his case, it is a pure gift. He respects different religions and beliefs in the same way he respects medicine. His events are open to everyone.
What do scientists say about Bracoâs gift?
Some scientists see Braco and his gift as a rare phenomenon. Zagreb University professor and physician Professor Vladimir Gruden, MD, has written two books about Braco following extensive research. Professor Gruden is a psychiatrist and the best known medical psychotherapist in Croatia. After thorough research, he came to the conclusion that encountering Braco and his gaze brings about real changes in people. There is something in Bracoâs gaze, according to Professor Gruden, that can effectively help people in their lives. It isn´t yet known to todayâs science. Other experts speak of a revitalization or a profound harmonization of peopleâs inner lives through that what Braco offers through his gaze. The well-known Stanford emeritus professor and consciousness researcher Professor William A. Tiller considers Braco one of the most important individuals today.
What do visitors experience?
For many visitors at events with Braco, Bracoâs gaze immediately leads to a noticeable mental improvement. They feel better and experience peace, happiness, optimism, a mental relief and a âbrighteningâ within themselves. Some also report health improvements after an event with Braco. There are also improvements in social life, family, work, finances and relationships between people in clear temporal connection with an encounter with Braco.
Which countries has Braco visited so far?

How does live streaming of Bracoâs gaze work?
Since 2009, there has been free live stream, an online event with Braco and his gaze. It started with skype and developed over the years to a professional live streaming. Braco looks into the camera for a few minutes during an online event. The procedure of the online events with Braco is the same as at live events in the various countries. A short presentation and a video clip introduce the encounter, then Braco comes and offers his gaze directly into the camera. The experience and reactions of visitors online or at a live event in the different countries are similar.
Why has Braco been doing this work and traveling the world since 1995?
When Braco realized in May 1995 that something has been given to him, so that can help people better their lives, he decided to devote his life to this gift. To this day, he sees it as his lifeâs mission to be there for those who want this help. There are now hundreds of thousands of people who have attended his events.
